Support Groups

Support groups play an integral role in the mental wellbeing of the general community.

Support Groups can assist in a variety of ways and they may offer different things:

  • a shoulder to lean on
  • a space to share your experience with others in the same boat
  • a place to get practical advice
  • a  place to receive services (such as NDIS support)
  • advocacy for individuals or systemic change
  • an information portal

A large part of the GSNV’s role is to help support and guide support groups to run efficiently. We aim to support the supporters and empower them to increase their capacity. Our support group portal has a number resources designed to help you with different elements of running a support group.
